Notes de dégustation
91-93 – “(from a 0.17 ha, 2017 was the first vintage). Residual secondary fermentation aromas dominate the nose today. Otherwise there is a fine intensity to the sleek and delicious flavors that are not quite as mineral-driven on the refreshing, chiseled and sneaky long finale. This is also quite stylish.”
The second domaine vintage.
A more open nose, vibrant, just a beauty ! Driving, beautiful line, direct and fresh, mineral – real tension- almost a mandarin fruit in the finish, phenolic – excellent ? No, better !
Robert Parker Wine Advocate – William Kelley 2019-11 91-93 pts
The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain displays aromas of fresh peach, white currants, spring flowers and fresh pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied, textural but racy palate that’s lively and mineral. It’s the second vintage Anne Morey has produced from this recently acquired parcel.
The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain is the first vintage from this recently acquired eight-ouvrée parcel, and it’s an excellent addition to the domaine’s portfolio, offering up aromas of lemons, white peach, nutmeg and pastry cream. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, layered and pure, with good concentration, tangy acids and a long finish. Anne Morey contends that there is work to be done in the vineyards, but this is a very strong start indeed.
Burgundy Report – Bill Nanson 2018-10
The first domaine vintage.
A lovely volume and minerality to the nose. After the Perrières, there’s more drive, volume and energy. Clearly plenty of minerality. Hmm, this is a great debut – bravo – excellent. Juicy, mouth-watering but with really a concentration of finishing flavour – a bottle to be proud of!
