Tasting notes
“A very calm, almost contemplative width of aroma. Mineral and clean, but still with lots of concentration. The finish is fine and acidulated – very moreish. A deliciously crisp wine.”

“Clear pale lemon colour. This has the racy mineral bouquet of the upper slopes. There is nothing shrill about this though, delicious flesh on the palate, attractive acidity and good lenght. Another Morey success.”
“Clear pale colour. The nose is quite impressive, more classical. A little lactic note behind fresh apples, with good lenght here and enough middle ground.”

“There’s some aromatic oak here but also extra dimensions of attractive fruit. Vibrant, mouth-filling – super width – you could almost say lean – but lean muscle – direct and silken. Super wine. Just have a little patience with it – 2 years or so… Really great finishing again – this aspect is standing out in this range of wines…”
“The 2019 Saint-Romain Sous Le Château (sourced from purchased fruit) had been sulfited the week of my visit. It has a lively floral bouquet featuring touches of mirabelle and honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, plenty of energy and notes of lemon curd and apricot. Fine race and generosity here. This is a delicious Saint-Romain from Anne Morey.”
The 2018 Saint Romain Sous le Château, which comes from purchased fruit, has a delightful bouquet of yellow plum and light jasmine and broom aromas. The palate is quite round, slightly honeyyed ont the entry with tangerine and apricot notes, and very generous ans approachable. This will be irresistible once bottled in 2020.

The return of Saint Romain smiles Anne…
A fresher nose, here touched with a little barrel cream but also a growing mineral streak. Open, bright, lovely open structure. Pretty, mineral and with citrus deliciousness.
