Tasting notes
Inside Burgundy – Jasper Morris 87-90 pts 2024 January
“Full lemon and lime, the bouquet is a little out of balance here.”
Tim Atkin Burgundy Report 2021 – Christy Canterbury MW 92 pts
“The 2020 Meursault Le Meix Tavaux is the second release of this cuvee from the Domaine. Like the Meursault villagen this was quite reduced on the nose. The palate shows more promise with quince and orange zest, not complex but with a fine bead of acidity with fine weight on the finish that shows quite a lot of extract.”
First vintage for this domaine wine – near Forges.
“The nose here seems a little more finished, a deliciously inviting floral aroma overlays the fruit. Supple, mineral, lovely energy, nothing excessive but I find this great villages – melting with mineral flavour, a very modest richness, today showing a little oak but very fine. A little finishing tannin in the impressive finish.”

“A small new cuvée from Anne Morey—derived from a seven-ouvrée parcel—debuts with the 2019 Meursault Clos le Meix Tavaux, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive wine evocative of green apples, citrus oil, toasted bread and white flowers.”
VINOUS Antonio Galloni – Neal Martin 2020-10 90-92 pts
“The 2019 Meursault Le Meix Tavaux is a debut release from a vineyard between Clos du Cromin and the road that heads toward Auxey-Duresses. It was bought by a society formed by Anne Morey and Antoine Jobard. “It is not a steep slope,” Anne Morey told me, “but it drains well, the soil having a little more sand.” It has a well-defined bouquet of orange pith, red apples, hazelnut and a touch of honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, harmonious and lightly spiced. This is a very promising debut and a welcome addition to the Morey range. Six-and-a-half barrels produced.”
Burghound.com – Allen Meadows 2021 – Issue 83
89-91 – “(from a 0.29 ha holding and 2019 is the first vintage). A very Meursault nose is both more elegant and fresher with attractively layered aromas of various white fleshed fruit, citrus confit and a whiff of acacia blossom. The succulent, round and seductively textured flavors are generously proportioned while maintaining good focus on the balanced and sneaky long finale. This is lovely and a wine that should come around relatively quickly.”
