This is always one of the Morey’s most consistent wines and 2019 should only further cement that reputation.”

Hmm, directly there is a more mineral aspect to this nose, still with a faintly spiced accent. A soft entry but such a fine, mouth-watering, flavour. Beautiful texture. Supple, layered finishing. A wine of contemplation despite plenty of energy – vibrantly finishing again – simply lovely…

The 2018 Meursault Les Tessons reveals a lovely bouquet that mingles scents of citrus oil and green pear with hints of white flowers, blanched almonds and honeycomb. The 2017 Meursault Les Tessons is superb—a wine that will be high up on my personal shopping list in this vintage—wafting from the glass with a reserved bouquet of green orchard fruit, lemon oil, crushed chalk and almond paste. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a concentrated, tight-knit core and an almost electric sense of energy, concluding with a long, tangy finish. As usual, it surpasses many of the appellation’s premiers crus.
