The wines have a beautiful colour intensity, they are powerful, robust and tannic so the stiffness in their youth needs (a long) time to soften.
This is a wine that needs time to fully develop its potential. Optimal cellaring time should be from 10 or 15 years.

“A silky width of aroma – tighter at the base. Full but very open – the flavour a little more fluid and and melting in style. Very nice waves of wide finishing flavour with a grainless tannin in the finish.”

The wine is unexcpectedly deep in colour, with a forward, plummy fruit and hints of smoke and earth. Anne Morey destems the grapes and punches down gently during fermentation to achieve this delicious result.”
“The 2020 Meursault Les Durots was taken from vat where it will remain until bottling in February/March. It has a well-defined bouquet with cassis, blueberry and violet aromas, oddly, quite Vosne-like in style. The palate is wonderful, very nicely structured with fine acidity, quite mineral-driven with a long, shimmering finish. I just love this.”

“The 2019 Meursault Les Durots Rouge, matured in 30% new oak, was showing a little reduction on the nose that made it difficult to read. The palate is medium-bodied, quite burly for a red Meursault, with good depth, a mixture of red and black fruit and a slightly grainy texture toward the finish. Just maybe missing a bit of spark.”
Next to Santenots, there are some chardonnay vines co-planted here…
Ooh – more class to this fruit aroma – such an invitation. Layered, nicely textured, fresh and concentrated – the palate is a little behind the nose in terms of generosity today, but not by much – a real Meursault of character. Excellent.

“The 2017 Meursault Les Durots, which comes from just under Les Santenots on clayey soils, has an attractive wild strawberry and blueberry scented bouquet that actually does convey the voluptuous,ess of a Volnay Santenots. The palate is a little more rustic than the aromatics, but there is good structure with fine grip. The finish is clean and pure with a light marine end. Drink over the next 6 or 7 years.”
“Good ripeness on the attack, juicy, quite rounded and plump in the middle. Firm tannins and fresh acidity ; the tannins are rather firmly supportive, enhanced with the acidity for sure, but not hard. This should soften out and at the end it is softer and juicy with appealing freshness.”
