Public prosecutor and Notary Royal in Beaune, Jéhan Humblot made a gift of his vast property to the Hospices in 1600.
Since its foundation during 15th Century by Nicolas Rolin and his wife Guigone de Salins, the Hospital has beenfunded by legacies and gifts ; and became a beautiful vineyard estate.
From 1859, the wines of the Hospices are sold by auction to improve the new hospital and keep the old buidings like « Hôtel-Dieu ».
