In 1904, Monsieur and Madame Grivault donated superbly placed vines in Les Charmes Dessus to the Hospices de Beaune.
The vines date from 1958 for 38% of them, with 30% from 1985 and 32% from 1997.
Since its foundation during 15th Century by Nicolas Rolin and his wife Guigone de Salins, the Hospital has beenfunded by legacies and gifts ; and became a beautiful vineyard estate.
From 1859, the wines of the Hospices are sold by auction to improve the new hospital and keep the old buidings like « Hôtel-Dieu ».
