Tasting notes
“The 2019 Saint-Romain Sous Le Château (sourced from purchased fruit) had been sulfited the week of my visit. It has a lively floral bouquet featuring touches of mirabelle and honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, plenty of energy and notes of lemon curd and apricot. Fine race and generosity here. This is a delicious Saint-Romain from Anne Morey.”
The 2018 Saint Romain Sous le Château, which comes from purchased fruit, has a delightful bouquet of yellow plum and light jasmine and broom aromas. The palate is quite round, slightly honeyyed ont the entry with tangerine and apricot notes, and very generous ans approachable. This will be irresistible once bottled in 2020.
Burgundy Report – Bill Nanson 2019-11
The return of Saint Romain smiles Anne…
A fresher nose, here touched with a little barrel cream but also a growing mineral streak. Open, bright, lovely open structure. Pretty, mineral and with citrus deliciousness.
